The Temple Beth-El Youth Choir is comprised of students who love to sing. The age range is quite wide, from second grade through high school, and we usually have about 15-20 members. We sing many songs in Hebrew and some in English. Mrs. Lilli Zimet started the choir many years ago and in 2001 Cantor Shapiro took it over at Mrs. Zimet's request.
Through the generosity of a congregant, we recently acquired lovely blue vests that we wear whenever we sing. You can hear the Youth Choir sing once a month at Friday evening Shabbat services as we "sing a new song to the Lord." We have been invited to participate in several interfaith concerts in the area over the years and we enjoy sharing our music and our tradition with others. We rehearse on Sunday mornings for a half hour before Religious School begins, and Cantor Shapiro welcomes new singers at all times.
