THE GATES ARE CLOSING (flier) A Community Production: Reading and discussion for Selichot

8:00pm Saturday, September 16th at Temple Beth-El

Calling all actors/readers - we welcome all actors for a reading performance.  If you are interested in taking a role contact Temple Beth-El at 845-454-0570 or [email protected].  There will be a few read-through gatherings in late August.  The Gates Are Closing, a play by Merle Feld, takes place in a synagogue on Yom Kippur. The action follows 10 main characters spanning a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and professions as they grapple with issues of identity, meaning, repentance, and forgiveness on this most somber of days. 

8:00pm Light refreshments, Havdalah, performance, discussion.  Followed by musical Selichot Service 

The Selichot program and service is a collaboration between Congregation Shir Chadash and Temple Beth-El.  Rabbi Daniel Victor, Rabbi Miriam Hyman, Rabbi Daniel Polish and Cantor Gail Hirshenfang all participate in this 
annual event.
