Helping Israel

Temple Beth-El strives to enhance the relationship that our congregants have with Israel by sponsoring educational, social and cultural programs, and by encouraging the congregation to be active on important issues.

Connections Israel was founded in 1998 as an independent, educational, not-for-profit organization that strengthens Jewish identity while unifying the Jewish People. We provide educational hands on projects to Jewish communities, schools, synagogues and camps around the world that enable participants to show support for various populations and places in Israel.

A Package From Home
Our mission is to strengthen the spirit and resolve of each Israeli soldier, and to show our appreciation for the sacrifices they are making in securing our safety and the survival of the Jewish People. Our care packages are not only a warm reminder of the love and esteem we hold for our soldiers but also are items that they truly need.

Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma (ICTP)
Once again Israel is fighting to protect its citizens.  In Sderot, and surrounding areas, thousands of our children have been in bomb shelters for almost two weeks now. Thousands of other children have been moved out of their homes and are staying with relatives or strangers, and hopefully out of harms way.

The staff of ICTP has created workbooks for children called "My Resilience". They are specially designed to help children (and parents / teachers) deal with all types of emotions that they may experience during these difficult times. They are "kid friendly" and a great tool filled with exercises to help our children cope psychologically.

We need to raise $60,000 immediately to print and distribute these workbooks to help the kids, and their parents. We are proceeding to print them even before we have raised the funds...because the kids can't wait, and we need to already get these tools into the kid's hands by this coming week.

We are also now working on converting all of this material into an activity on the internet, which can reach every kid in Israel. Our planned internet services will also include on line counseling and therapy to strengthen the resilience of Israel.  We estimate the costs to about $150,000.   The kids need your help now. Please go to our donor page for our US address and mail in your check, or make your donation on line at http://www.traumaweb.org.  We appreciate your support and Israel’s children will benefit from our work.

With blessings for peace in the land of Israel,

Yashar LaChayal The name of our organization, Yashar LaChayal, means Straight to the Soldier.

100% of your donation goes directly to Israel's soldiers.  The Irving I. Moskowitz Foundation funds all operating expenses, allowing your donation to go directly to our Soldiers on the Front Lines.

Yashar LaChayal began during the summer of 2006, at the height of the second Lebanese war. Our community in Maale Adumim, Israel, including Congregation Nachalat Yehuda, were "recruited" due to the sudden need to help our soldiers fighting on the front lines. Yashar LaChayal continues to be there for our troops, researching their needs and meeting them, wherever they are.
