    Shofar Over the Hudson combines the sound of the Shofar with the natural beauty of the Hudson River.  For centuries the sound of the Shofar has provided a moment of awakening and inspiration for the Jewish people.

    With expanding membership Temple Beth El needed a larger building.  In 1959 the congregation moved from Montgomery Street to our present home on 118 South Grand Avenue.

  • Goals

    A house of prayer: aiding our members in their search for meaning in life, fulfilling the spiritual needs and longing of our Jewish community, providing a path that brings us closer to each other and to God.

Dr. Somer is Professor of Bible at JTS and has gotten great reviews as a speaker. Discussion will be relevant to our lives as part of a contemporary Jewish community.  See INFO for complete details. 




On a proposed update to Article 1 in the TBE Constitution.  Your vote does make a difference, as 75% of the congregation must vote on this ammendment.  More information and Proxy.  Voting continues through December 31, 2017.

Service Times

ALL Friday evening services are at 7:30pm, including first Fridays

Saturdays at 9:30am

Morning minyan held weekdays at 7:30am. Evening / Sunday minyan held by request.  


Office Hours

Normal business hours are 9 to 5 Monday through Thursday and until noon on Friday.
