Selichot: Ethical Wills
Saturday, August 28 at 8:30pm on zoom
Wills, everybody has one, or is advised to write one. We generally think of the document as how to share our stuff, but what about our values? One of the brilliant innovations of Jewish civilization is the tradition of the ethical will. For ages, the Jewish people have left documents giving their descendants clear descriptions of what was important to them, and what practices and values they hoped those descendants would continue to treasure – as much as grandma’s fine china.
During our Selichot program this year we will learn about the custom of ethical wills, think seriously about what our values are and discuss writing one. Join Rabbi Rabbi Miriam Hyman and Rabbi Daniel Polish for this year’s joint Selichot program held jointly with Congregation Shir Chadash. Zoom information we be emailed.
